Local surfers of this site will be aware that John White and Michael Talbot were elected to Tendring District Council as the two Parish representatives in the May 1999 elections. They made the following statement in the July 1999 issue of the Parish Magazine:

Whilst we were both Independent candidates and independent of each other at that time, now that the election is over we will be working together for the benefit of the residents of St Osyth.
We have decided that one thing we will do is to prepare a short District Council report for each issue of St. Osyth News dealing with items which may be of interest to readers. For obvious reasons most of this will be about other areas of Tendring and will come from the open parts of Committee agendas, but we will see how it goes and respond to your comments, including any suggestions you may make. We will call our reports:-

TENDRING NEWS AND NOTES

May 1999.

******************************************************

The above partnership lasted until May 2007 when John White failed to be re-elected following a three way drawn vote and a subsequent elimination ballot.

The partnership was resumed in May 2011 when John White was elected again to Tendring District Council as member for St Osyth and Point Clear, returning as Councillor John White and contributing each month to the Tendring News & Notes page of the Parish Magazine!
