St OSYTH SUMMER SHOW 2011

On Saturday 25th June 2011 the Society held their Summer Show. This year many exhibitors had found the rather hot and dry weather earlier this year, followed up recently by some consecutive days of very strong winds, had made their choice of exhibits rather limited, with many saying they felt the best of their own gardens had been a few weeks earlier.
Notwithstanding the above comment we had a very good show with all entrants showing their best and when one thinks that not only flowers are on show, but vegetables, fruit, handicrafts, paintings and drawings, photographs, cookery, jam making and homemade wine, entries from children under 15 years and a whole side table of floral art from members of the Toosey Girls Club, then there was something for everybody to view with pleasure!

I have let the pictures speak for themselves, without any written explanation so you can see for yourself the quality and care exercised by those presenting the individual arrangements. I hope this page gives a snapshot to Internet visitors of the displays on the day and perhaps encourage people who are web visitors to become personal visitors to one of our three annual shows in St Osyth Village Hall.

The prizes and trophies were presented to exhibitors by one of our District Councillors Michael Talbot, who congratulated all those who had been judged winners on the day.
