FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY

Cowley Park once again played host to the St Osyth Village Pre School Playgroup fund raiser the St Osyth Summer Fayre. The event was held on the first day of August, but as far as the weather was concerned it could have been March or April. Many people had seen the forecast of deteriorating weather as the day progressed so by the official start time of 2 p.m. a very good crowd were present who enjoyed the first three quarters of an hour without rain. You will notice umbrellas around some of the pictures, but it did not seem to send many people home, as whilst it was raining it was not heavy rain. The Arena displays continued with very worthy performers ignoring the rain and continuing with their programme. The pictures below show some of the days features.

Various stalls were situated around the recreation grounds with both items for sale and fun things to do. Amongst attractions on the day were the Tendring Dog Agility Group; Tiffany’s Dance School; Essex Fire Service; Barbecues; Car boot sales; Fancy Dress; Tombola; Inflatable’s; Ice Creams; Face Painting; Beer Tent and much more

The spectacular Tiffany’s Dance School display took place in the rain. Since the grass was wet I think they were jumping up to keep their feet dry. They were on for about ten minutes with a well choreographed performance, with dancers creating patterns with their coordinated movements. On the extreme left spectators can be seen sheltering under their umbrellas, but the show must go on – and it did!
