LETTERS & STAMPS

Firstly this month I would like to thank Sarah Hanlon for her work over the last few years as she has recently gained a position as a Teaching Assistant in a local Primary School and has therefore handed in her resignation.
She has worked for us since 1992 and has been an asset to the Playgroup.  We would all like to wish her well in her future position and I hope she will pop in occasionally for a visit and let us know how she is getting on.

As I wrote last month the AGM has been arranged for Monday 24th September and will be held in the Village Hall annexe at 7.30 pm.  A letter will go out to all parents and guardians in the first week of term regarding arrangements for the meeting - it is essential that all parents attend.
Without the support of parents for this meeting we could be in the situation where we are forced to close, this is not a position we want so please do attend.  Last year the meeting only lasted for an hour, which is not that much to ask once a year.

I also wrote last month about the donation from the St Osyth Business Association (I incorrectly called them the Trade Association, so my apologies for this error).

On 20th July Michael Talbot, Chairman of the Parish Council, very kindly agreed to take a photo of Melvin Coe and Allan Green from the Business Association with the children from the Playgroup and some of the equipment we were able to purchase with the money, and I have included the photo with this article.

Finally, as the magazine is usually delivered before 1st of the month I would just like to remind you all that the first day of term is Monday 3rd September.
I look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks and to having full attendance at the AGM on 24th.

Julia Rushford, Chairlady
