Just a quick note to remind you of September’s events.  The Wisley trip is going ahead on 1st September.  The following week we have our Harvest Show on Saturday 8th September.  Entries need to be sent/delivered to me by Wednesday 5th September at 11 St. Clairs Road.

This is often our biggest Show of the year but this year we have had such big Spring and Summer Shows that it might not be?!  It is time to start pampering your flowers - roses, dahlias ready for the show.  Also if you grow vegetables have a look at section 3 and see if you can enter.

A committee member earlier in the year grew pumpkin plants that were on sale to encourage entries in class 50, a pumpkin.  Another class for keen vegetable growers would be either class 55 for newcomers to vegetable collections or class 54 for the more experienced.

If you prefer indoor hobbies have a look at section 4 - floral art and section 5 - cookery preserves and handicrafts.

The last section is the children’s classes.  This year there are 5 classes including an animal made out of vegetables and a picture of your Mum.  Finally if you are entering the Special Class: A growing strawberry plant in a pot supplied by Ken Muir - remember to bring your plant along on 8th September for judging.  On your show entry form please enter that you are entering the Special Class but you do not need to pay for this class.

If you have spare plants that you would like to donate for our plant stall or would like to make a cake for our refreshments either give me ring on 820080 or bring them along on the day of the show.

Our last event for September is a Talk and Slides about Glen Chantry by Mr & Mrs Staines on 19th September at 7.30pm.
