On the 14th May the Point Clear and St Osyth Horticultural Society held their annual plant sale in the Village Hall annexe from 10 a.m. to Noon. This event is eagerly anticipated by both members and village residents as a chance to buy plants grown by other Society members and sold to benefit the funds of the Society.
The stalls were all manned by members (plus Kevin and Rosie) and they had a busy time as the doors opened at 10 a.m. to let prospective purchasers enter. There was a good variety of plants at very reasonable prices, with members giving advice, based on their own personal experience of the particular plant, now being sold.
Many of the growers of these plants pictured being sold this day, will no doubt be exhibiting at the Summer Show to be held in the large Village Hall on Saturday the 2nd July from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. with prizes being awarded and the raffle drawn at 4 p.m.
Look forward to seeing many web site visitors, as visitors to the Horticultural Society Summer Show! Come along to see the ‘Green Fingered’ talents of your neighbours and friends, perhaps even joining our Society?
