PENSIONER CHRISTMAS PARTY
for Bay Residents.

Sitting in anticipation of the meal to come - glass raised in expectation?

Alistair from the Red Lion topping up glasses. Choice of meal has been made!

On Monday 21st December the Orchards Holiday Park invited pensioners who live in Point Clear Bay to a Christmas Lunch they had organised in the RED LION public house in the Village. Nineteen elderly residents were able to attend.
These Christmas luncheons have almost become a tradition in the Bay, being started for Christmas 2003, when Gordon Frew was General Manager of the holiday park.
On all previous occasions the party has been held in the Ferryboat Inn, a property owned by the Orchards and situated at the extreme end of the Bay nearest to Brightlingsea, but this year the Ferryboat was unable to accommodate the local pensioners, so the Orchards arranged the function in the Village.
As the pictures above show the Red Lion laid out a room specially for the party and a good time was had by all. It was noticeable that most plates were virtually ‘licked’ clean, a sign that the food was really excellent. The meal was accompanied by a choice of wine and as ones glass emptied, it was quickly refilled. Those present unanimously asked that their thanks be conveyed to the Orchards Holiday Park and to Bourne Leisure the owners of the holiday complex.
