MUSIC ON THE MEADOW
2009 VERSION OF THE VILLAGE EVENT

An overall view of the Meadow taken when walking from the car park
towards the distant sounds

On Saturday 18th July the St Osyth Business Association set out to repeat the tremendous success of their previous events staged on the meadow of Warren Farm, which has been used for this musical experience for a number of years. To say it was another success does not do justice to a remarkable evening enjoyed by all and provided free, courtesy of the Association and its members.
The twenty pictures on this page were taken between 7 p.m. and 10.45 p.m. and move from bright sunlight early on, to a clear dark night for the firework display, which as you can see, lit up the sky! The only problem was that a quite brisk breeze blew from the west the whole day.

Part of the crowd attending and enjoying the sun. The bare arms on the ladies show
the sun outweighed the effect of the breeze for many people.

The nine pictures above and the two at the bottom give a flavour of the firework display enjoyed by all those who braved the cold wind blowing by now. The display lasted about fifteen minutes and around me I could hear the Ooh’s and Aar’s of appreciation as some of the displays were triggered.
Some young children were being given a treat by their parents in allowing them to stay up late to see fireworks. Many people have seen brilliant pictures on the television of firework displays around the world to celebrate significant events, but there is nothing like seeing and hearing a live show.
Thank you St Osyth Business Association, once again you have done us proud!

after the firework display the serious business of dancing to the music got under way

That’s it for another year. As Lynda Spinks, Chairman of the Association said to me – we ordered fine weather and it was delivered on time!
