Friends of St Osyth Parish Church

The AGM was held in Church on Sunday 14th April when a successful year was reported.  Coffee Mornings, Church Tours, the Open Gardens and the recent Concert were all well supported and raised valuable sums.  The hard work of all those involved was appreciated, and thanks given.

New curtains and the important but unseen expenditure on consultants for the damp problems were the year’s benefits for the Church fabric.  Funds are still held for the damp problem, the Concert profit was assigned for the Tower and Bells, and the remainder is available to attract grants!

Re-elected were Chairman Mark Roberts, Vice Chairman Yrina Morgan-Kendall, Secretary Marge Vickerstaff and Treasurer Pauline Morphew; Committee - Audrey Brown, Janet Dewing, Barbara Francis, Chris Page, Barbara Shuttleworth and Roy Vickerstaff.  A welcome was given to new Committee members Tina Edwards and Frank and Margaret Hearn.

Large sums will be required for the damp-proofing and the Tower and Bells (and other expenses which are bound to occur) and new Friends would be most welcome.  If you haven’t still got the leaflet and application forms inserted in the April St Osyth News, please contact Marge or Mark.

Don’t forget to support the Jubilee Celebrations run by the Friends in the Church - the 1950s Exhibition each day from 1st to 8th June (11am to 4pm) and the 50s Fashion, Dance and Music Show on Saturday 8th June at 7pm.

Mark Roberts, Chairman
