Christian Aid

Hasn’t time flown?  Christian Aid Week is almost upon us - MAY 12th to 18th 2002 - and once again your support is requested.

The money you donate is used by Christian Aid to work with local organisations on a non-denominational basis throughout the world.  Local communities, just like ours, know their needs and how best to achieve them when given the right kind of help.  The financial support given by you, via Christian Aid, enables others to achieve an improvement in their living standards whether it is by immediate response to a natural disaster or by enabling them to take direct control over their situation and develop the resources that make a difference.  Examples being clean, safe drinking water supplies that we take for granted, workers co-operatives enabling the bulk buying of seeds and the marketing of the resulting produce or via education and health care support.

In excess of 75% of donations received goes in direct aid with the remainder being spent on education, promotion and administration that are essential to ensure continuous support is maintained.

The distributors of St Osyth News have once again kindly agreed to distribute the envelopes in which any donation can be enclosed.  However to save you any unnecessary or unwarranted disturbance we have arranged (with the support of local businesses) the following collection points to which envelopes can be returned and these are:-

Londis, The Spar Shop, St Osyth Butchers, The Post Office, John Stiff Estate Agents, The Stores Point Clear, The Vicarage and St Osyth Primary School.

The Rev. Martin Flowerdew will kick start the week with a special sermon at the 10am service on Sunday, 12th May and all are welcome.

Should you experience any difficulty in returning your envelope please contact either Danny Wright or the Rev. Martin Flowerdew.

Thanking you in anticipation of your support.
