HEARTS and ANGELS
a celebration by the young

On the evening of October 31st our Parish Church provided a Christian alternative to the pagan ceremonies of Halloween, a festival used by the ancient Celtic pagans to prepare for winter. Rev Martin Flowerdew decided some activity should be available for those not attending other functions in the village.
Children were invited to come in fancy dress with the two themes of 'Hearts' or 'Angels'. A competition was held during the evening for the best costume with prizes for the winners. The picture above shows a composite of the entries standing in a line and below are the four pictures which make up the long picture above.
Games were organised and an art table provided for children to explore design by making their own collages with paper and various interesting materials provided.

Martin helping some of the youngsters to both prepare their art work, but more importantly to do so without missing a bite of their food.

All dance around until the music stops!

When the music stops all fall to the floor

Two youngsters show off their with art work
