The cups and trophies to be presented later in the afternoon to our prize winners

Yet again another lovely show, but unfortunately entries were down but those entered were of a very high standard. We had a surprising thing happen at this year’s show, a couple came in and the gentleman went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend in front of all the visitors which sent a round of applause ringing round the hall, it was very romantic and was the topic of conversation for some time, the happy couple were John Beaton and Vicky.
Councillor Michael Talbot did us the honour of presenting the cups and trophies.

The above is the end of the Show pictures and notes, but an event during the afternoon reported in the introduction, raised many people’s sprits, as they saw a Mr John Beaton on bended knee propose marriage to his, now fiancé Vicky, which she accepted. I gather it was totally unexpected on Vicky’s part and in a ‘Mills & Boon romantic novel way, quite special for our afternoon.
Best wishes to you both from the Point Clear and St Osyth Horticultural Society
