W.R.V.S. OVER SIXTIES CLUB

IT’S always exciting to start a new year.  We get to be forward looking and think of things to do in the future.  The first club meeting of the year ran true to form.  During the introduction and welcome to new members, Barbara spoke about the plans for this year’s outings and special activities.  She even referred to next year’s Christmas party!

There are several groups in the village organising trips and it is becoming even more of a challenge to think of new places to go.  We will revisit some favourites and maybe have some afternoon jaunts.  Joining in the outings is a good way to enjoy places without the chore of driving there, so if you know of a good way to spend a day or half a day please tell us.  We may be able to arrange a club visit.
At the present time there is a lot of sickness about.  The group who entertained us in January was reduced by half in numbers, but it was a case of quality, not quantity.  We couldn’t have been given a better lift.  ‘The Entertainers’ began with a selection of sunny songs, which spread a warm glow all around, followed by several solos of well loved songs.  The items were linked with amusing comments and the whole show went with a swing.  Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to please us.

Our first outing will be in March to Romford for shopping and lunch.
In April seats are booked for the show ‘We Will Rock You’.  There is a waiting list for this trip.

The next club afternoon will be on Thursday February 10th.
We look forward to seeing new members.  If you would like to come along at 2.30pm in the Village Hall we will be pleased to see you.
