ROYAL BRITISH LEGION

Dear Friends,
It is the intention of the St Osyth Branch of the Royal British Legion to celebrate the end of hostilities from the Second World War. The official date set for the nation is July 10th 2005 and as this falls on a Sunday I think that our vicar will be holding a service for the village in our church.

We intend to have our celebrations for all our ex-service personnel and their partners, and to invite them all to our Village Hall on Wednesday 6th July 2005 for a 2.30pm start, for an afternoon of music, song and laughter.

Refreshments will be served to all in attendance, and the whole afternoon will be absolutely free, but we will ask you all to make contact with us so that a ticket can be issued with a number stamped on it to gain admission to the hall.  This will have to be done to get the correct numbers for catering purposes.  Tickets will be available at a later date, and will be advertised in our Parish Magazine.

We are appealing to all our friends and shopkeepers to see if we can scrounge raffle prizes so that we can end the afternoon with a fantastic free draw.  We know it is early days as yet, but at least everybody will be able to book the date.

This applies to all ex-service personel (male or female) and not just members of the Royal British Legion, that are resident in the village and Point Clear.
We thank you all for your anticipated help, and we hope to have a fantastic afternoon.

More news at a later date.
John & Betty Austin, Secretaries to both R.B. Legion Units
