Parish Church Flower Festival

The Altar Display. Wedding Dress and Flowers

Over the August Bank holiday weekend our Parish Church held an event entitled Anniversaries and Celebrations, that had magnificent displays of flowers interspersed with Wedding Dresses worn by their owners on their own special days and separate displays commemorating various anniversaries the oldest of which was the founding of Cambridge University in 1209, 800 years ago.
Successful business, sporting events, famous births or deaths, toys and dolls, newspapers and periodicals at the start of W.W.2. were amongst the anniversaries remembered and the pictures below show a snapshot of some of the dispays that could be seen by residents and visitors inside the Church that weekend. Unfortunately not every item is on this web page.

There was no particular connection between displays so the pictures are in more or less a random order. I have tried to keep the dresses together, though in practice many were on the high altar.
