A BRIGHT IDEA FOR CHRISTMAS
|
|
|
Yes, we can’t believe it but Light Up A Life is upon us again, and this year we hope that it will be bigger and better than ever. For anyone who is new to the newsletter Light Up A Life is St Helena’s most successful annual fundraising event and this year it celebrates its sixth birthday.
We have three Christmas trees in Colchester, Clacton and Brightlingsea Town Centres and the idea of the event is light on the trees to remember someone who has died or to honour someone special in your life. When you light up someone’s life you will be sent a personalised certificate with the name of the person you wish to remember. If anyone is struggling to think of a unique Christmas present this year why not buy a light for a close friend and honour him or her and you have the added bonus of supporting our work as well.
In addition, at each of the trees we hold a carol service where the tree will be illuminated. The dates for the services are:- Friday 7th December, 7pm St James’ Church, Brightlingsea Sunday 9th December, 4pm, Culver Square, Colchester Thursday 13th December, 7pm, Pier Avenue, Clacton.
We do hope that you will come along and join in with the singing at the services.

ST HELENA HOSPICE LOTTERY
The Hospice Lottery is going from strength to strength. The first draw was made on 8th June and this week sees it come of age with the 21st draw! Since the first draw, 209 Tendring residents have won £10 with 5 more winning the £200 second prize and 6 lucky local residents are £1000 better off!
We currently have over 3000 regular players but need more. The more players we have the greater amount of money going to the Hospice. The new St Helena Hospice Tendring Centre is now nearing completion and awaits its first patients when it opens to the public in December.
If you want to join the Lottery, or can help us by enrolling others into the Lottery, please call The Lottery Office on 01206 710440 for further information.
