Jubilee Garden Party

On Saturday 26th May the St Osyth and Point Clear Branch of the Womens Royal Voluntary Service held, what they called a Street Party in the Garden, the garden in question being at the home of their president Mrs Tina Edwards. The WRVS usually meets on a Thursday so the Saturday get together to celebrate the forthcoming Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth ll who is patron of the service, made it an afternoon to which one could look forward to with pleasure. The sun was bright in the sky and the day chosen turned out to be one of the best days this year!

All the photographs on these pages were taken by Tina Edwards herself. She had asked the web editor to take some pictures to which he readily agreed, turning up with camera, tripod and bag of tricks to take the photographs on Saturday 2nd June. He asked Tina why things were very quiet, to which she replied the function was last Saturday!! As they say, there is one born every minute!

The Garden Party had run from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. and at the end of a successful celebration afternoon in the sun, everybody agreed it had been a fine way to celebrate the long sixty year reign of Elizabeth ll.

God Bless Our Queen.
